Oblivious Compute is open source because useful ideas should be pushed farther than any one mind can take them.
If you want to help without sending fun tickets, talk about it. Argue about it. Tear it apart. If you know someone who might find this interesting, send it their way. The right people will know what to do with it.
And yeah, keeping the lights on is always a chore. So if you have a million dollars laying around, fantastic. If not, I like my coffee black. Either way, this has gone well beyond a healthy obsession.
Everything begins with a single admissibility function. That function is distributed across observers sharing the same state space, while each observer maintains its own independent state. Every position determines whether an incoming projection has value from that particular location. The tiny rule 𝒜(s,x) captures that local decision. What is admitted continues. What is rejected remains in the abyss.
This simple primitive is the building block of the machine. Repeated across many coordinates, the same local boundary begins to behave like a distributed binary function. No observer contains the whole relation. Every observer contributes its own piece of the geometry. Value is determined by admissibility.
Admissibility is relative to position. Two observers may face the same object from opposing sides while maintaining independent states. The relation si ≠ sj does not mean that either is wrong. It means each participant encounters the same object from a different viewpoint. One observer may see what another cannot, while both remain consistent within the same underlying manifestation.
Each additional position contributes another partial description. No single observer must perceive the whole for the collective to describe the object. Independent perspectives collectively reveal more of the geometry while every observer remains local.
Every observer is a BlackBox speaking into the unknown. Each maintains its own state and projects without choosing a computational recipient. Whatever returns from the medium is encountered from that observer’s position. If it belongs, the observer assimilates it and may semantically reproject into the void. Nobody needs to know who heard it or what happens inside another machine.
As these independent admissions continue, relational symmetry Σ becomes visible among the observer states. The computational field ℱ is that evolving relation at collective scale. Like echolocation, each observer speaks into darkness, and the echoes begin to describe the same object.
Across n observers, Ωn contains the possible arrangements of their independently maintained states. The changing geometric relation of the observers gives the field form. The field is not another state. It is an emergent relational phenomenon.
Synchronization is not the birth of the field. The field is the interference pattern made visible when independent relations coincide. A diagonal may persist, dissolve, or recur. Each coincidence is one expression of the field as its relational symmetry changes.
In the presence of radio waves, a radio does not create the field it receives. Tuning only changes which pattern becomes coherent to that receiver. Likewise, each observer is attuned by its position, carrying its own local condition for resonance. When those conditions are satisfied, a joint configuration lies on Δn(Ω), where independent perspectives correspond.
The field exists before, during, and after any single coincidence, with perfect symmetry at its gravitational center.
Perfect symmetry may be a position of rest. On the diagonal, the independently maintained coordinates no longer diverge. The larger relational geometry has the same structure as the original state space. A distributed configuration can then resolve without becoming a different kind of object. At that resolution, the many coordinates settle back into the structure of Ω.
Stable positions allow liminal movement between fields. The diagonal does not destroy the larger geometry. It gives that geometry a doorway back into the state space, where the resolved relation can itself become a point inside something larger. What was many at one resolution can become one at the next. The machine becomes a scale rather than a boundary.
An oblivious machine is a constellation suspended in the firmament. Similar to stars hanging in the night sky, observers appear as points of relational geometry cast against oblivion.
All components are embedded in Oblivious Medium. The observer geometry occupies distinct s positions within the continuum, while Φs is the exposed medium between positions. The machinery remains entirely oblivious, same as the observers within. The reciprocal configuration and the plenum between constituents form the two halves of the realized machine. What emerges from their suffraction is stored in neither half. The evolving relational symmetry of the whole is an Oblivious Computation.
At the most fundamental level, Oblivious Compute asks whether a single recurring rule can reduce coordination overhead by distributing admissibility across independently maintained states. Like stacking pulleys or changing gear ratios, the arrangement itself can create leverage. The medium provides the movement. The geometry provides the advantage.
This project began from the realization that computation may not reside inside any one machine. State, projection, message, and medium need not remain separate objects. A projection can instead be a manifestation of one evolving relational object, continuing through independently maintained states without any observer storing the whole.
There is no separate computational object. The computation exists in the relation itself.
